… so in fact we are happy to have possibilities to coo financing Lars’s hobby, but we are not “aware of that fact” :D:lol:
October 31, 2020 at 4:41 pm #39085that’s a fact : if mithril does not make money it’s because of marketing and business strategies that are not made (or made to let the things stay this way)
November 1, 2020 at 10:10 pm #39087All of the above is why I talk with both Lars and Chris about any “special” projects that I commission. Lars is guaranteed not to loss money, Chris is able to choose design and the feel of figure, and I try to suggest things that we all might like. But I only do one MX at a time as I do not want to put too much money at risk in case of unforeseen events. The two Loren boats are almost sold out. I have purposely stopped adding suggestions to the monthly vote to give others a chance to make the suggestions they want, but I will make one next month. Now I focus on vignettes as we have so few of them in the voting months and there are so many great scenes yet to be made. Perhaps the next vignette I commission could be decided by a poll of the active members. What does everyone think?
Perhaps this conversation would be better in Secret Vaults of Angrenost?
November 2, 2020 at 7:51 am #39088I would support you master Twrich, thanks for keeping bigger projects alive !

But…
A lot of very small companies or independent sculptors appears (and disappears) with High sculpting skill be digital or traditional. The average level of detail is much higher than the Mithril one.

about commissionning, for those like you master Wrich who can afford it, have you given thought about commissionning something that has already been “sculpted” but never achieved the step of first casting ? as an example, those projects Chris has made (in 3D sculpting) but which weres abandonned by Lars.
I don’t know if some strategy could be made here between Lars/Chris and the community to convince them to make an already achieved project come “true” by asking them to produce something that is already “done on the workbench”… ?November 4, 2020 at 8:58 am #39099Like I said before, I would support but lack direct interface with deciding men.
November 5, 2020 at 10:54 am #39105I would support those “halted” vignettes, the one at the door of bag end looks very interesting. and the others too. I would also support the polls that Master twirch could create internally about those MX… In fact sound like a good idea to merge both ideas… abandoned half-designed vignettes and new ideas related.
November 5, 2020 at 4:24 pm #39108well , everybody can create a poll in the MMP forum if you want

That sounds a good idea Tom, I would love to see some more vignettes appear.
November 5, 2020 at 10:51 pm #39110Hi, all of you dear Gentlemen !
I follow this topic with interest : it sounds to me like something of another universe…
It’s incredible to read so much “secrets” about the quite strange ways of Mithril Miniatures.
I must say, like Master Mornedhel suggested, that I was suspecting that a company can’t produce only 100 minis per month and still be alive !
For the rest of the suggestions, I’m not aware (and able) to do something.
Of course, I like some “abandoned” projects you’re discussing about, but I’m feeling powerless.
(I’m not a fellowship member so I can’t propose and vote on the forum .. )
-but, I’m ok for a vignette “at the door of Bag End” !
However, many thanks, Master Gildor, for the pictures and informations you share with us !November 9, 2020 at 4:55 pm #39115Sam Wise wrote:I must say, like Master Mornedhel suggested, that I was suspecting that a company can’t produce only 100 minis per month and still be alive !We should not forget that “mithril” is just a “little” part of a business involving “Prince August”. Also, I do not know if the company has some kind of government aids for being an international shop that’s in the heart of Ireland, giving jobs to a rural little town. (you can also substitute heart of Ireland for “end of the world”). So maybe the boss that manages “An groupa Edmann” just tries to not loose money with “mithril”. I do not know, of course, I am just guessing on different aspects.
November 10, 2020 at 3:19 pm #39118well the boss that managed An groupa Edmann is Lars Edman simply he has severy businesses running and some of them generate benefit that allow Mithril to keep afloat
November 10, 2020 at 5:53 pm #39119Alléluia ! God save Lars !
Did i make a mistake ?
What is her dancer like ?
As for the patrons who hold Rugby or football clubs at arm’s length. I hope Google Translate can translate my thoughts as well as possible.Thank you Master Gildor for all his latest informations.
Indeed, I was wondering how PA Ireland was doing to maintain the production of Mithril ?
Who is interested in it today in the world of miniature figurines ?
No one ! Except you and me.
I haven’t seen painted Mithril figurines in competition for ages !
As you pointed out, they are of a poverty in terms of sculpture compared to what is done today in sculpture with other brands at this scale (25-30 mm).
So let’s not sulk our pleasure, and thank Lars for allowing us to still be able to dream about the realization of future references !
I vote for a skit, but like Master Sam Wise, I haven’t been part of the Mithril Fellowship for over 20 years.
To your good heart, Ladies and Gentlemen!November 11, 2020 at 10:37 am #39120You haven’t seen painted miniatures (in competition) but I have all Mithril miniatures painted from M1 till the last one… So word “Except you and me” is not appropriate for your statement dear Master Jacob
November 11, 2020 at 1:03 pm #39121You = community of Mithril Faeryland and the others on FB of course, a small hundred, go two at most ?
But the most faithful … and I do not forget that without them, I will not be here today to show you my paintings and to discuss with you all !
God save MMP !November 12, 2020 at 10:38 am #39124but master Jacob, why not include yourself in this community when you say “you and me”, you are part of us all
November 12, 2020 at 12:32 pm #39126Of course, you’re right Master Gildor.
But I consider myself more of a painter of Mithril figurines than a collector.
And of course both have their place here, isn’t it ?Glad to see you more often with us !
