I suggested to Chris we could organise suggestions and polls as to know what figurines could be done next in the PM ranges…
indeed those would be fantasy related, not Tolkien flagged and not copy nor explicit remakes of already existing figurines from M range…
the suggestions can be from :
– old CH or F&F range from Prince August
– lost suggestions from the Gold Fellowship which, though unlucky, had quite some support and which could be released without being flagged “Tolkien”
– other kind of fantasy or celtic stuff or abandonne stuff (maybe wilderlands one day, maybe easterlings one day though nothing is said so far about it)the PM “collection” will be declined in several “ranges”, all having their own numbering. (PM1,2,3…. PCH1,2… etc etc)
the man was glad to learn people were very interested in a PM1 re-releasse. the new “more detailed” version should be ready soon… it will be slightly different I think but in the good sense, more detailed than the original

October 17, 2011 at 4:55 pm #20883Now, that sounds very good.
October 17, 2011 at 5:05 pm #20884Will Chris be considering multiple figures or just small vignettes/single figures?
One thought if multiples might be produced is the Grey Company which should be able to look ‘non-Tolkien’ – figures in mail and travel worn clothes/cloaks. This was a popular choice for the next M range.
I would love to see minor additions, i.e. alternative arms/weapons to a standard figure to allow the choice of poses to be made.
Other than that I would have thought that anything that does not have a distinct Tolkien emblem/similarity such as a running horse on the shield of a mail-clad, rider with flowing hair, a walking tree etc. could escape the net
Substitute emblazoned shields etc. with plain shields and I would think that a wide variety of elves, orcs, men etc. could be realised.
Do you have any releasable details of what improvements will be made to PM1 – I have the set already so minor differences would not be a reason to buy, but it would be interesting to know what changes may be in the pipeline.
October 17, 2011 at 6:27 pm #20887thanks master ddaines I had overlooked this aspect!
so far, only single should apply I think… BUT this range should comprise vignettes too Actually one is in preparation already
but so far no “sets”, it could be mounted, or vignettes but not a full set I think… though this may change
I don’t have details yet about the PM1 sorry I will post as soon as I have any.
October 17, 2011 at 6:48 pm #20890I will suggest every PM figure which would be connected with The Silmarillion look like figures (which remind us of the most important characters)…. and some figures like Master David’s said – figures that are designed to resemble characters from the imaginary Middle Earth… As an example of the latest M range….all the figures look like the Celts. Only our imagination tells us that they are “the Dunlendings”…. What certainly will not support it, because I do not have any money for it are different figures from the Roman army to a modern armies, only because it is CT figures. I can’t to afford it, ad I have many 54 mm figures already “on stock”…. But those suggestions topic will be the best choice for many of us…. and for Chris too…. I support this method of “from living room” home business development of 100%
October 17, 2011 at 7:02 pm #20891Mmm This sound very good !
On my side, I would also like to see family miniatures (dad, mum, children, pets, citizens) this can be done for all races)…kids would be playing, parents would be cooking, gardening, kissing….
And maybe we could also suggest bigger miniatures such as Old man willow, White Tree (does not need to be called “white” !), Grond ….:rolleyes:October 17, 2011 at 8:04 pm #20892beware when you speak of Silmarillion, though I agree with you the choice of words and description should be “blurry” to avoid tolkien estate and MEE problems with licences though I concur , carefulness must be utmost priority here
some forthcoming release, even one that will be announced on Oct 24th is a representation of one of the most famous “tolkien early writings”…… never represented before… but HUSHHHH!!
October 17, 2011 at 8:04 pm #20893still your suggestions thingol and milo are vague at best so far please be more precise
or do a list that will help
October 17, 2011 at 8:21 pm #20894I’ll made one suggestion list for sure… soon…
October 17, 2011 at 9:29 pm #20895milo is on point — i’d like a troll family, for example. the only troll figures there are show characters in war gear.
October 17, 2011 at 10:12 pm #20897If this is successful I see this rivalling Mithril in all but name (and official characters), has the man asked for some form of ‘in-house’ security from us so that MM do not get ‘wind’ of it?
I realise that these releases will be what WE imagine them to be and not what we would (officially ) like them to be, and that CT is presumably at liberty to produce what he wants to in his own name, but would he be happy for these figures to be mentioned on for example the MM forum board.
Just a thought, as the old saying goes, ‘Careless talk, costs new products )
October 17, 2011 at 11:03 pm #20898i don’t really see a problem — on the board, we can talk about pretty much anything we like — to quote james brown: “it’s just crazy talk” — to prove that a miniature is based on forum “crazy talk” would be very time and money consuming and then to find a court that would happily decide in your favor when there is comparatively not much net worth (compared to the so-called big players) is yet another gargantuan task.
October 17, 2011 at 11:29 pm #20899mmhh these remain SUGGESTIONS, they won’t be what we imagine them to be…. Chris has full control over what is done or not there is no “winning vote” here only suggestions to be taken into consideration that’s all , as David depicts
now I don’t think the man will focus on “monsters” at all in the beginning… but he may eventually
for the time being we could focus on what could be resculpted from the CH range or what GF suggestions could be “digged up”along with some ideas of individuals maybe… remember this range is not intended, from the beginning to become a “mass range”, it is a casual range with casual release, so expecting “sets” from the beginning is a bad idea, according to me…
October 18, 2011 at 6:58 am #20903I do not want many figures in many “sets” like some armies are….
From my point of view I would like to see some “characters” like Manwë from CT work bench could be Tanwë
In my own list he’ll be PMxxxx ….something caled in my imagination – Manwë !
October 18, 2011 at 8:20 am #20904Well, I certainly agree with Thingol.
Especially Silmarillion related figures- OF COURSE unnamed (please Gildor, don´t explain again about licens matters . . . ) !October 18, 2011 at 9:13 am #20906Well, it will be great to see Boron y Nuthian Nituviol , with their hunting dog fighting against a giant Wolf (or something like this )
October 18, 2011 at 3:46 pm #20916@ the others, hahaha, that’s what i’m talking about. 😆
October 19, 2011 at 8:19 pm #20943I made a proposition to Chris, I wait to know his idea about it….
releasing ranges for “Mythological Legends”…. from Greek mythology and Nordic Mythology…. I suggested many names…
Zeus, Poseidon, Hades…. Ulysses… Odin, Loki, Thor… Siegried…. Fenrir…. and many others…. see what I mean? please don’t use explicit answers, I think everybody here understands where this could lead to…
