Today I received another absolutely stunning and marvellous present. I’m sure nearly all of you have not seen or even witnessed that something like that exists. Again it’s a marvellous conversion, as the Dunlending Chariot was – not forgetting the ‘NĂºmenorian Army’.
I will let you know more details about this, once I have assembled and primed it … but that might take some weeks at least.
I just wanted to start this thread out of pure joy.

          I couldn’t keeping from it.
The cart alone consist of at least 15 parts … then there are them oxes, two barrels, two orcs, two Dunlendings … then you had to prepare all those metal parts before assembling … some filing, sanding and things like that had to be coped with as the casting was a bit “rough”. I did spend about three quarters of an hour for each of them cart-weels this afternoon.
Two blades broke, one drill took the same way.
Anyway … I’m about sure that I will cope with that within the next weeks. … rhuoommm …

And I thought that was a new brew that Master Barliman was selling to welcome in the new decade. ;)

Best wishes on your good fortune Master Tree and I look forward to seeing some photos, but not in haste :)

No, not a brew.. . but nevertheless sth. that keeps you breathless … of course I will provide pics about this one … as it once again could be regarded as some Mithril-history … rhuoomm just leave me one night to cope with the cart … and then there will be more to do about the rest of all them pieces, Master David … gruhuommm … though I’m sure to can cope with that … delay, so to say … so far it was hard work … anyway … I do really like it very much … rhuoommm…

Huommm …. in case I add all four oxen to that cart … the piece will have a length of about 17 cm … alas … the Dunlending chariot “only” was about 10 cm in length … I hope that there’s enough of that primer left … then I have to build a base for that, ropes to be made and further details … this will keep me busy for a while … ;) oh, I nearly forgot to say Merry Christmas for all of you reading this ….

that pic in the background was provided to me letting me know how to assemble this …

Alas, by now I think I solved that primer-problem … at least for me … as I of course want to have that “Fire of Orthanc-thing being primed very close to the good old Mithril-primer. At least I managed doing that with the good old “Dunlending chariot” in the past.
So far there are about three layers of that primer I use being added to very many parts of that “Fire”. At least that I know of. Liquidly brushed, not sprayed … so to say.

hard weeks to come … but … you know, why haste everything …

well … why to provide all this? … rhuoom … because I want to tell Master Ddaines that all this wasn’t caused by any brew our barkeep might have or will be providing …
This is from “The Helm’s Deep Game” in 2002 at the “Cold Wars Show” in Lancaster PA.
It certainly is about the idea how Saruman was able to break the lower wall of Helm’s Deep with the invention of gun-powder (though in those days people did neither use guns nor powder).
Please try to keep them sequences from that movie out of your mind.
That damned stuff had to be carried and protected for quite some miles. Believe me that Master Saruman did not think about them furry hasty beasts to move that wagon.
Slow, as the tide rises, something unexpected met the walls of Helm’s Deep.
… now what … starting priming another two oxens? … alas … I dunno … rather give in to my wife’s queries about what the hell I’m doing here that late …. rhuoommm she’s right, of course …

Huoommm … well … last night I forgot to prove what I said somewhere … our dear master-sculptor really is called “The Man” … very nice indeed, isn’t it?

alright, as I’m the only one being present for quite a while … I have become to be too talkative again … so I will delete this thread in one or two days as I do not want to misuse this MMP site for presenting myself … I just did provide this out of pure joy … if you can understand … then I have to get back to priming and assembling again … :)

It’s late here 2am and i’m not sure why I am online , but our guests have just left, so time for a quick visit to the site. Many thanks for the posting of the images it looks a fantastic piece and oddly i’ve never given thought to how Saruman got this stuff to Helm’s Deep.

So thanks for posting Master Tree – a further insight into what can be with a little imagination.

I hope christmas went well with all forum members.

nearly no sleep last night …

that thing is shaping by now … just a rough idea of some details …

                                    [imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/9_fire_7.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/9_fire_7.jpg[/imgz]

then still there’s the problem how to add them oxen correctly … and how many?

huoommm … be assured that I will provide better pics of this piece once it has been finished …
but that will take some time doing that properly …
I just think it’s another piece of Mithril history … the conversions are based on at least 9 or 10 Mithril miniatures …
the base for that piece did once exist, but the mould broke and so it can never be recasted again … which means that I will have to make a base myself … alas, you see, he’s busy, the Tree …
well, but I wanted to ask … is there anyone around here who has seen this before or even owns it? …

this exactly is what I thought of … the Roman ‘Traction System: Tandem hitch’ … so all in all things can be very easy …
