huoomm … sorry, Master Hsf62 I didn’t see you … cheers, of course …. hom
July 9, 2018 at 5:00 pm #37282Well could all this lack of internal detail and so on be as a result of the “printing” process? I don’t have the faintest idea how the process functions, but other companies seem to retain detail and still consist of as few pieces as Mithril models used to. So what the heck’s going on?
July 9, 2018 at 8:35 pm #37283It’s ok Master Theobald, I drank your share aswell
I guess it depends on the sculpt (program you sculpt with) aswell as the quality of the printer used to print the master figure!
We know what CT can do if he sculpts with his hands, so the reason the quality dropped must come from one or both of the above mentioned reasons.July 9, 2018 at 11:29 pm #37284huoommm … just had the third and last try today to assemble further parts of that boat-thing … rhuom … I’m seriously annoyed by now … ggrrrûhuom … Ents are patient, you all know, but … hoom … to me it needed a hell of a lot of time to try to make those badly fitting parts joining … grrruom … er, sorry, as some of you might know I do have some Mithril figures assembled until now, including very many difficult assemblies … huom … but yet never came across something like this boat … hom …
But to make it clear: I am and was not complaining about the sculpting of the figures … huomrhuom … as far as one can guess from shiny unprimed pieces, they seem to be very nice, but former details might now be covered with glue … even before priming … then all the rest of details (?) will be gone … hmmmmm … tragic development that is to me…huom
HHHHUUUOOMMM … well, I know, it’s me, the tree who`s wrong… as I’m not skilled enough to cope with superglue and metal jigsaw puzzles and priming… hoooommmmm …. sorry, but feel that I had to add this here … homa last bowl of my special choice, please, Master Barliman
er, huom … any mug left, Master Barliman? Master Hsf62 drank nearly all me bowls this afternoon … huom

Now imagine trying to do this with only half your arms… or should I say tree limbs. 😆
July 10, 2018 at 7:09 am #37286I fully agree with all the written comments about the MZ645… The general figure is very beautiful. But! It is unnecessarily chopped into small pieces. I also had the same problem with sticking parts, especially that one with hands and oar. I hope future figures will be printed in one piece…
It sometimes seems to me that they are still experimenting with producing of those MZ figuree.
July 10, 2018 at 9:30 am #37287If they can be, it begs the question wht wasn’t MZ645? Is this an example of insufficient experience of Mithril and/or Chris with the medium?
July 10, 2018 at 12:41 pm #37289huom … alas … my intention was not to cause any trouble or things-like-that … homrhom … but after three days trying to cope with that “Lorien Boat” I decided to publish my feelings here, as there may be others interested in my experience with that … of course I still keep in mind that my skills as a tree are poor …huoooOm … well, you might know by now that I never try to comment in public about a miniature before having it held it in my hands … huom … that’s why I cannot pass on my opinion just based on poor tiny b&w pics – or, by now, being based on screenshots that do not reveil the product, so to say … grruûom …
today I managed to fix all parts for priming … hoom … though after that the next step would be assembling those parts accordingly, which is impossible, because I don’t know where to place those ropes and the “strange part”(whatever that is) that also has to be added somewhere …huooomm … so far I couldn’t find out; though I used a very good magnifying-glass,but even that did not work well enough together with that wonderful tiny b&w pic on the leaflet … hom …
sorry for my long entries here, but there are things that had to be said, meseems …. rhuuooomm
July 10, 2018 at 4:00 pm #37290All very valid and pertinent observations as ever, Master Tree. Not sure that personally I shall be buying the boat myself, though the company’s pictures are very seductive.
Excuse me, I need to go and chase off some pesky six-legged things that are making life here in the Pony’s bar very annoying at the moment…..
July 11, 2018 at 9:21 am #37291You are scaring me a bit master tree… I still did not buy any of the MZ but the first archer (which I dislike but bought for the sole purpose of cheking the quality)… and for what I see from other mates I am still fearing to buy further MZ references… ;_(
That many parts may respond to the way the master was 3D printed. In a 3D printer sometimes, some parts need a kind of pillar to be currently printed the way they are designed. If the designer does not control this part ALONGSIDE with the mold maker, the final sculpt might end composed by a lot of little parts, since printing little parts is easier than making them in a single block (depending on the “three-dimensionality” of the sculpt)
But I am no specialist in the process, it’s just my personal thought on it and an opinion I extracted from what I see in other companies/sculptors…
