Hopefully its nothing too serious. I’ll leave some coin in the till for my drinks and try to keep keep Nob busy looking after the patrons.
December 8, 2017 at 12:08 am #36712huooomm … a day or two have been gone by now … grhûom … me tree becomes a bit worried …. homhuuomm?
December 8, 2017 at 3:53 am #36713Worry not. Crisis has passed. Everything is back to what passes for “mormal” here in Bree.
December 8, 2017 at 8:53 am #36714… good to know … huooooommm … er, my bowl’s empty, so could you please ? … you know, Master Barkeep … huoom
December 8, 2017 at 9:16 am #36715My attention having been distracted, it’s just dawning on me that the Yule-time festival is approaching rapidly, and I haven’t done a thing about decorations and trees and suchlike. Since he’s the tallest one here, I’m sure I can persuade Master Theobald to hang decorations from the rafters (it’s either that or I use him as a ladder…) while I get some liquid for his empty bowl.
December 8, 2017 at 12:33 pm #36716grruh-hommm … a ladder … me? huoomm … never again … you have to admit that you are just looking for a chance to hang all that tinsel-things around my branches and twigs once again … huoom … no, Master Barliman … but of course I can hang the decorations at the rafters … huom … and we should not forget those nice candles … homtidomm
December 8, 2017 at 12:37 pm #36717Candles? Near dry, old (with apologies) wood? Rather you than me….
December 9, 2017 at 2:21 pm #36719Glad to see some familiar faces at the Inn. It was starting to feel quite empty and I feared Master Barliman’s business might suffer! I hope & pray all my friends across the Great Pond are doing well and hopefully looking forward to the holiday season.
December 9, 2017 at 3:51 pm #36720huoomm … Master Barliman, what about lifting up Nob to light the candles at the rafters, I could do that easily … huomm … I’m deeply impressed that you worry about my dry old wood … rhûom … in some decades wood tends to become dry when it is cut off from watery-things … huomm … that clear-clean-non-sparkeling-honey-coloured-watery-liquid as you know … huooommm … so what about my empty bowl now? …
alas, Master Mindextwo, good to see you around here … huoomm … be sure that Master Barliman’s business has never suffered much as far as I know, that’s why he is able to be on holiday that often… huom … thanks for your wishes, Master Mindextwo, but you know that there are no holidays for trees, especially not this time in a year (especially for them conifers) … grûomhuom

December 9, 2017 at 4:41 pm #36722huoommm … alright that is Master Barliman…. grrruuuômhUUOomm … but I am slightly displeased as I received that Galadriel-so-called-mini-vignette yesterday … huomm … please never ever place it next to the old M136 with its table … as then you might see major differences in size and quality … huomm … that lady seems to be shrinking along with her mirror-table …huoomm … I am a bit annoyed about this … rhuôm … and dare to be in public … hom
December 9, 2017 at 5:25 pm #36723I didn’t order one yet, so can’t really comment. However, looking at the pictures alongside my own M136 I suspect I’d agree, so I may not buy the MZ figure and will save my money towards another.
December 9, 2017 at 10:53 pm #36726huoomm … I’ll try to take pics tomorrow … just to prove what I said … gruuuûoomm …. you’re happy not to be a collector, Master Barliman … huoomm
December 10, 2017 at 7:58 am #36727as i said on official boards this is dire news indeed, I had not seen your post here yet master ent. but pics are absolutly necessary (not for us) but to show and prove Mithril the facts. I had the impression there was a shrink in size since first MZ release remember? now it seems to grow concrete. They have to do someting about it
i’m fairly certain its a matter of scale when 3D printing and then building moulds around this 3D cast.December 10, 2017 at 8:39 am #36728I know nothing of any value about 3D printing, but shouldn’t it be possible to simply input a different instruction to the computer to get it to “up” or adjust the size of the printed output as necessary? It’s pretty naff technology if it deoesn’t enable such correction..
December 10, 2017 at 10:54 am #36729Interestingly I have measured the recent Gildor figure and it is about 32/33mm in height as is a sample of other older figures, which is I think Mithril scale, although as elves were supposed to be taller than your average human, maybe they are slightly vertically challenged .
I haven’t received the Galadriel vignette, but snow allowing, hopefully here next week.
Is the issue maybe a visual one where the figures are maybe the same height, but are slighter in build which makes them look smaller?
Most of my figures are in boxes after our house move so not easy to do a general comparison of human/elf heights.
As Barliman says, I thought the printing/digital sculpting method should allow for variations in scale as indeed some manufactures do.
December 10, 2017 at 12:48 pm #36730they may be the same height, which does not mean the same overall scale… if they are thinner with same height that could mean they are ‘globally” smaller but “elongated” to match the height
but the ratio is thus messed up… really a photo side by side with “mirror of galadriel” old figurine is required to compare here, as both figurines are similar
December 10, 2017 at 1:33 pm #36731I still did not order this vignette… after these comments I think I will wait for easter discount…
Actually I cannot understand why they do such mistakes, again and again… I was thinking that this printing/digital sculpting should be easier for producing new figures… so I think that it is possible to “calibrate” all individual sizes of all races and program those values in computer program for all future prints…
I’m sure they could compare all those scales and keep the body measures uniform for all future print figures.
December 10, 2017 at 2:27 pm #36733huoomm … please concentrate on the size and scale and not on my poor attempt of painting that old M136 some decades ago …

… huom … I hope these pics might help a bit to judge on that matter … grrruhomm … I have to excuse again about the poor quality …
December 10, 2017 at 2:34 pm #36734The older versions of the figures are far superior. Shame.
