I am really sad to read this 🙁 is there nothing I could do to make things better and let you stay?

if it is about the forum, well, I could always try things to make it better or completly replace it by inserting the old one again 🙁 I had asked the question in the old forum but it seemd people wanted the new one instead of keeping the old one si I did that, but if that’s not ok, I can always bring it back, the old site is still up for the time being so that’s ok.

that pains me to see you leave 🙁 as I see this new place is really not functionning well it seems, at least for the forum 🙁

Hopefully you will reconsider Master Theobald as your company and input over the years has always been valued, but if you do choose to leave, and roam the green vales whither your road takes you, then I wish you all the very best and thank you for the company over the years.

Please Dieter, could you write me in private (email) so we could discuss a bit, I miss our past exchanged and I have always considered you the wisest amongst us. If you had not been there, this site would never have existed.. I am but a humble collector and computer technician but you are far more than myself the memory and all the wisdom of the Mithril community around here.

Just let me know all your doleances or things you’d like to get better around here, I can work on that, but I need explicit feedback to improve things

That sounds terrible to me, one cannot afford to loose an ent friend, much less one that keeps memoirs of this site and its predecessors, and from our little sculpted miniatures so well. I wish it’s because we are heading towards fall and the path seems a bit upright… specially for ents… Hoping all the best whatever you choose to do.

And for the rest, I wish you all a really nice summer time, the coolest we are to have in many years to come. Stay safe.

A FOND FAREWELL

As some of you have doubtless noticed, I have been absent from The Pony off and on for some time.

This has been the inevitable consequence of several medical crises over the past couple of years – not just Covid, alas: my Prostate Cancer has meanwhile progressed into my spine. This is, needless to say, a bit of a bugger.

I have yet to start on my new medication, so I’m uncertain regarding what impact this will eventually have on my schedule for sailing into the West. Though I’m not planning to go anywhare just yet, I’m anticipating that my remaining time here in Arda may be somewhat compromised (did I say this is a bit of a bugger?), and I still have a horrible number of little lead men left to paint. I’ve therefore decided that my remaining time should be devoted to Mrs B., me, and my Mithrils.

So, have a good life, all of you. I did.

That news is to say the least ‘A bit of a bugger’ 😥 . It’s so very sad to hear this update on our Inn-Keep’s health and I/we can only hope that the Passage to the West will be delayed.

Yes, thank you very much Gildor for keeping us informed, even with such very sad news.

I knew for some time about Ian’s disease, as he once told me of it. This is a massive loss for the Prancing Pony and so for all of us. I don’t know how the Pony could go on without our dear “Barli”. I have no words at the moment. HhûoOmmmm ……

It has been a long time, but now I’m back. Very sad news to read about our barkeep. Very sad indeed. It looks like all the others have some time off aswell. I guess I have to serve myself and drink with myself aswell. Cheers to all!

Sad to read those news about our dearest Barli. All I can say or do is send a big hug for you and your family.

Could we rename this taproom as Barliman’s taproom in his honor? I might craft a sign with a mug and a rat’s tail if necessary 😎 😥
