Personally, the more I see of the Amazon version of ME the more it worries me. I shall try to avoid hating it until I’ve seen enough to form a (hopefully) balanced opinion, but I’m definitely wavering towards disliking it (on the basis that I haven’t liked a single detail that I’ve seen thus far…..).

Sorry, chaps, only just found my way back in here (I’m a bear of very little brain, as those who know me will have realised by now), and my sadly deficient understanding of computers – and maps – is legendary. Can’t say I’m enthusiasitc about the colour of the decor, but hey, I didn’t have to pay for it either, so I can’t complain!
Calls for free beers all round, I think.
Astonishing how fast time flies!

Indeed, many birthday greetings to the kindest tree I know of! – from all the staff here at the Pony.

Disney is ‘Woke’ to the core, hands off!.
One day I must get someone to explain to me what “woke” means in trendy hip vernacular. Waking is something I do every morning, but I still don’t understand it.

Disney toyed with filming LOTR back in the day, didn’t they? I seem to remember that JRRT himself was appalled with the notion.

I don’t honestly know what I was expecting, but this wasn’t it. I was going to watch it all (trailer and analysis) a second time, but then thought “Meh”, and turned it off halfway through.
To me it lacked the superlative production values of the LOTR/Hobbit movies, and wasn’t to my tastes at all. Shame. Who knows, I may “warm” to it in due course, but my initial emotional response was “Well, that was disappointing”.

You’re mightily chatty today, Master Tree? I’m less so – autumn is knocking on the door, which means colder days are at hand. Time to build a vast log fire in the grate and toast some muffiins, I think.

I’m afraid you’ll have to bring your own cockles.

Well, if I’m relocating, no one has told me yet, that’s for sure. Not sure I could stand the “excitement” at my time of life.

I know. I’ve tripped over your huge booted feet on more than one occasion.

Master Tree! It’s so nice to see you again – I thought you might have abandoned the Pony, for pastures new, so to speak. But then, it has indeed been so empty here of late that I thought you might have simply ducked your head through the door and I’d not noticed you. There certainly haven’t been many visitors, of late, largely because of Covid perhaps (it’s so difficult to drink through a mask – believe me, I’ve tried, repeatedly).
One brimming bowl of nectar fluid coming right up (perhaps I shouldn’t have drunk it so fast….).

An excellent opportunity to get them all at the same time certainly, but only for those who can afford this sort of price. I wouldn’t be able to, so it’s a good job I have them already.Realistically, could anyone afford to spend this sort of money all at once, on their hobby? I suppose it simply depends on what other priorities they have in their lives at this point in time.

Sounds ominous.

Aha, a secret vignette — tell us more!

You’re a walking tree……of course you can move!

I suspect you’re just trying to get out of digging. Very well. I’ll just have to go and start the job on my own. You’ll have to take over serving duties up here. I’ve put some boxes behind the bar so that ypu can see the customers!

I’ve got to MOVE? But…but…but…all my treasures are buried in the basements HERE! I’ll never get everything dug up in time to shift it, whenever the move is. We’d better go and start now.
NOB? – TO THE CELLARS, AND START DIGGING!!

I imagine that many of us have had other priorities to worry about in these difficult times. Hopefully things will improve soon.

Whether or not I am actually here is debatable (well, Mrs B thinks it is), but yes, I still enjoy collecting, painting and playing with toy soldiers as much as I ever did. Still very much a child at heart, and more of a Tolkien emthusiast than ever.
