May 22, 2010 at 10:18 am #10092Well, let me please leave a comment about limited gifts here, as it might be also me who knows what it feels like to have to decide upon such matters.
Deciding is difficult, very difficult indeed, I think. First you only think of doing someone a favour and you feel fine with it. Then you realize, that with the decision you made you might have disappointed others … and that’s not what you wanted first.
So I was more lucky (?) with the Imrahils, as they were 30 and not less. I have to thank Roland here, as he gave me one of the first casted “Morlass” when he couldn’t know that Chris decided – after Gildor asked him about this – to have a few more squirrels being casted.
I’m still proud of having been given the first Dwaw of Waw-version from Chris and the first casting of the Pm1 …
… I don’t know how to continue, as it might turn out to be a list …
and then, maybe I could forget to mention someone and that might disappoint him …As far as I can recall, it was me who first decided to give away Mithril figures for free … having in mind the “old Hobbit-idea” of giving presents on your birthday instead of expecting them (some of you might even remember some ‘Razaracs’ or other figures).
That was so many years ago … eight? nine? ten? – I cannot remember. But now I witness that this thought and way of giving has become a part in the minds of the people around here … and that pleases me very much. It simply makes me feel good to see that what I call “coiny-things” (in the Pony) is not part of your thoughts. Not that I have too many of that coins, no I haven’t.
But I think this is what keeps me here … it’s this “weird passion” I can share here on Gildor’s MMP.
That’s all.May 22, 2010 at 3:49 pm #10093I would echo these thoughts of Master Tree and point out that I have not forgotten his generosity, nor that of others like Holger and Barliman. I would publically acknowledge them here. When possible I have tried to imitate, (though on a much smaller scale!). What keeps me coming back is the fact that collecting and enjoying Mithril seems to self select intelligent and talented people from all over the world. And this is a friendly on-line community from which one can learn many things! No orcs present and a very un-dwarvish attitudes.
May 22, 2010 at 5:01 pm #10094Hi Theobald,
yes, it was you, who planted this “miniature-sharing” in my mind with some generous gifts in the past. I remember a Dwarf Warrior and the alternate Imrahil . . . Not to forget Holger who changed one of the most valuable MX-figures with some most common, let´s say cheap, minis! Very nice gesture, too.
It really seems to be(come) a true fellowship! And, as we say in Germany: “Kleine Geschenke erhalten die Freundschaft!” (“Little gifts keep friendship!”)May 23, 2010 at 2:04 am #10097I really can’t thank the Master Tree enough for his gift! Nor can I forget the Master Caster either!
Gavin too, is most excellent! Master Archer of Mirkwood is a wonderful guy! If I forgot anyone, let me know.
This community is what keeps me collecting these wonderful minis. I don’t have as many as some of you others, but that is ok. I know I will eventually get the ones I want at some point.
Thank you all for being here.May 23, 2010 at 8:12 am #10100Thanks for new title Master Gildor… and as Master Marshal says… thanks for for being here !
May 23, 2010 at 1:38 pm #10109Welcome Brave Sam the gardener!
May 23, 2010 at 1:43 pm #10110Are we having a thank you day to one another?
Ok then, I thank all of you for being who you are!
That’s why I love MMP.May 23, 2010 at 7:09 pm #10120…. 😆 I hope it will be happy forever ( this small smilie on MMP )
May 27, 2010 at 9:06 pm #10181Thanks, Gildor,
keeper sounds a lot better to me than master . . . and it´s more me: keeping instead of ruling or reigning.
