Mornedhel told me yesterday on FB that Elrond had been sent (last week) so Gerold should receive it soon π
that’s odd that you cant edit. I have had no news of Thijl in quite some times, maybe on the facebook group we could try to contact him?
Sometimes I myself come by, though I more frequently post on the “fans of Mithril” facebook page which is managed by David π
My museum is almost finished, and though of course more than half of the collection is unpainted and I have not assembled the Time Machine dioramas (too complicated at the moment to pre-assemble them), when it comes to Mithril and Mithril only… only 10 reference are not displayed (because those are the ones I do not possess in double and are still blistered…
I hope I’ll manage to find doubles for themΒ soon π
Today… I feel sad…
Today, the mood in the Taproom is not what it used to be and no more will it be…
Today, our famous innkeeper has removed his apron… for the last time. well not today but some time ago already, but I got news only today…
Barliman, Ian… has gone, I hope Mandos will be kind to him as he did great and was a good fellow in his life… I will miss him dearly… MMP will never be the same without him π
I don’t know what will happen to the Prancing Pony now (nor MMP in general I must admit… now that the site is also quite technically broken too, without me having the knowledge at the moment to repair it…)
Life must goes on…
let’s celebrate one more – I don’t want to say last –Β time , dear fellows.
strangely you need to find older ones, as I need to find more recent ones π
I would gladly exchange some M7 or m10 for my missing Gold Fellowship most recent ones still in blisters π maybe I should offer some trading
most looked after :Β Passing of Elessar (I would not have thought this one to be that rare !! ) and Halbarad mounted π
I will keep the forum here then gentlemen , it may have its problem but it’s always a meeting place for old fellows like us π
mmh but the picture is there attached gentlemen I don’t see the problem?
I should look at it and try to figure out an ergonomic solution could you describe what you did and the result expected that is not there?
I really think that “moods” have moved elsewhere, people share on social networks, maybe I should build up a facebook MMP page as it is REALLY easier and more intuitive and ergonomic on facebook, but that would leave this place unhabited except for the database…. which remains the first and foremost feature of this site but that pains me… because MMP is a community before being a “database” πΒ and now people look at it for the database only
so I suppose that resin /printed figurines are easier to “counter-mould” than grayprimed metal ones (which require uncoating) π
but doesn’t it damage the original ?
I am curious master Caster, you’d be able to recast in metal figurines printed in 3D? isn’t it perilous? and the “type of detail” would be too hard I think (most of all because they are printed in one piece…)
Happy New Year my dear fellows too ! Let’s hope 2023 will bring some good news and happiness in our lives!
Cheers!
Hi there folks π I hope you don’t count on me to have a whole collection displayed?! I will come and bring rarities, oddities and prototypes, including maybe Phaeton but I cannot bring everything π
I should copy your list and answers to Chris, to know his intentions on this matter… As far as his latest replies go he was intent on coming himself
well this is precisely the one π
yes, i am still looking for the “single piece” one π
i have several “two pieces” of the nazgul though π
for people like me who like to paint parts with difficult angles before assembling, it is also quite a pain :/
I have bought some of them to Berliner Zinnfiguren. Actually it’s the company who bought the stocks from Bob Stein after Time Machine definitly died in 2018 after Bob ceased taking care of it.
Your cover arts help a lot David π I hope you’ll be able to send me the leaflets scans soon π
as a side note I have included (as I say elsewhere) every TMM references for which Chris has taken a part in. it is under the Time Machine category in the database
and actually I am still looking for the “one piece Nazgul”, ironically I have several “two pieces” one, but no “one piece” one π
about 3D print, well I don’t know, SLA 3D print (resin bath) does not have the same “rods” as the extrusion 3D print
the Dol Amroth knights were not good at all but it also comes from the bad quality of the undercoat in addition of the single cast…
well that’s an… experimentation I suppose, I just hope it is a good one
I think other references may come as separate parts but using SLA 3D printing process, I suppose it is less costly to print the figurines altogether in a single shot… they simply do not have to “explode” the master 3D concept art into separate parts thus it means the 3D concept image is directly printed without any middle steps of creating parts…
drastically improves the production workflow…. though I wish it would have an impact on prices, as Chris told me it was the main ideay… reduces costs to have them more affordable… well, not yet the case…
yeah and the return of the gray undercoat… but on resin… I must say I am curious to see the result
the weight will certainly make a big difference, and the mithril logo and copyright on the side of the base … I don’t like that, not diorama friendly…
I particularly miss the leaflets with explanations, and the TW5 and TW11 covers π
I thought Doug Cohen was the painter, not a sculptor? I knew animals (horses and oxen were not made by Chris but Ben Jacobson, at least for TW11.
as for the Fantasy , they were referenced 9801-2-3 in Grenadier range (rebranded Fantasy Series FS1-2-3 in TMM)
the one in your diorama are
Grenadier 9802 ‘Princess Achmiri’ -in metal- (FS2-Passion -in resin-)Β 9802 : Princess Achmiri
Grenadier 9803 “Princess Shaaranon” -in metal- (FS1 – Sacrifice -in resin-)Β 9803 : Princess Shaaranon
one of the sexiest figurines Chris has sculpted, and in 54mm… though my preference still goes to M99 and not the Karagat character π
Please take your time there is no hurry π
