Master Fabrice, your choice of colours is perfect !
This is a kind of figure which allows the use of bright and pastel colours.
You’ve done it ..Master Fabrice, you’re a .. Master for sure !
I love Gandalf figure a lot !
Congratulations !(And sometimes, I was thinking that if I had difficulties for painting, it was because of my brushes…
I know yet that it’s just because of my skill !)
Hi, all of you dear Gentlemen !
I follow this topic with interest : it sounds to me like something of another universe…
It’s incredible to read so much “secrets” about the quite strange ways of Mithril Miniatures.
I must say, like Master Mornedhel suggested, that I was suspecting that a company can’t produce only 100 minis per month and still be alive !
For the rest of the suggestions, I’m not aware (and able) to do something.
Of course, I like some “abandoned” projects you’re discussing about, but I’m feeling powerless.
(I’m not a fellowship member so I can’t propose and vote on the forum .. )
-but, I’m ok for a vignette “at the door of Bag End” !
However, many thanks, Master Gildor, for the pictures and informations you share with us !Fabrice JACOB wrote:Well done Master Sam Wise !!!Your presence here delights me. No post for a long time, i was wondering if COVID hadn’t affected you ?
Have you produced anything lately?
Posts in these places are becoming increasingly rare, would there be a certain danger in frequenting them ?
Sorry for the delay Master Fabrice !
All is fine for me !
In fact, I don’t paint since a long time, it seems that I’ve not enough free-time for that … ( or it’s because of the hours I spend to see all the cycling’s races on Tv ?).
I’ve 2 figures to show that I’ve finished in July :
-[mith]M403[/mith] Woodman Girl with Bow
-[mith]LR22[/mith] Bilbo farewell’s Speechand now I want to paint some Orcs because it’s “ORCTOBER MONTH” !!!!! 😆
I’m waiting the next steps of your painting job ! (especially the colours you choose to use with orange …
)
Keep safe !Fabrice JACOB wrote:Hello Mithril nautes !
I come back to you with a new game : Who am I ?
I am progressing quietly on my Isildur (s) project but at the same time, I decided to paint another Mithril figurine, a monobloc, a reference which until then had never attracted my attention.
I’m trying a new color scheme, I’ll let you discover it, from the back …
Who can give me the reference of this figurine ?[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1958__20200928_202231.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1958__20200928_202231.jpg[/imgz]
Nimhir The Regent [mith]M41[/mith]
And I like this colour ! I used it several times ….
Master Gildor, you don’t have to be sorry if you express your opinion and personal feeling !
Master Fabrice (like maybe some other “Masters” ), “up”something that exists for some Mithril collectors.
I’ve read recently on the Mithril forum some points of view which are in this way of thoughts ( arghh ! english is not easy enough for me to say what I would like to say!). The last example is the new figures of the new “The Hobbit” box but not only.
For me, Master Gildor, I’m more annoyed with your personal situation that with the questions about Mithril.
I don’t know what I could do for you (nothing I guess) but you can be sure that you have all my empathy (and sympathy).ddaines wrote:Hope you don’t mind me adding to your thread Master Samwise, but as we are talking of hobbit conversions….. Just a little project that I am working on
. Still have to add some bits to these hobbits. It is a small scene of the hobbits arriving at Bree that they are intended for – I had hoped they were leading the ponies, LOL, then I re-read the passage and saw that they are riding them, so out with the saw and modelling putty

You’re welcome in the Conversion Shire, Master ddaines !
Waouh ! what a great project ! The return to the Shire is one of my preferred part of the book… unfortunately, for what I know, mostly missed in the Mithril Range
It’s more than conversions : this is sculpting ! Well done ! I’m impatient to see the next steps of your work …

Master Gerold, your imagination and skill for doing those boxes is absolutely stunning ! 😮
I really like them.
Congratulations for all your workFabrice JACOB wrote:Nobody know’s ?Yes you’re rigth Master Sam, it’s a famous pirate !
I let you again some days to find it.-Captain Hook ? (Capitaine Crochet )
-Barbossa (Barberousse ) ?Is the bird (cormorant ?) important to identified the pirate ?
Gerold wrote:O, but there are many Mithril figures to be likedThanks for your comment and also thanks for the comment on my story. I didn’t realize people could have so much pleasure with that story
Of course, everybody love good stories !
.. and especially, for the Mithril fans, if it’s relative to Middle-Earth !
(and oups … it seems that I’ve created a topic which existed … hum… let’s see…., in fact no: this one is yours, and the other is mine! 😮 )
Gerold wrote:Dear Master WiseI’m afraid you are looking for pages that do not exist. As I mentioned before the catalogue has never been complete. It went from M83 to M194, with a gap for the numbers M136-M184. During the next years Mithril released some new pages to be added to the Guide, starting with the Minas Tirith range (M195-M204), and ending with the Orcs of the Red Eye (M309-M315). That was the end.
You can find more info in the thread ‘Missing Catalogue pages’.
Many Thanks Master Gerold for your documented advice !
There’s a good point : my Handbook is complete !
I understand better that you’ve created your own “handbook” with the missing pages !
Even if I don’t collect any more, I like to have informations about the figures I paint , and many of my to-do list are in the missing series.(before M83).
But of course, it’s not necessary so important .
I will try to find the “Missing Catalogue pages” … thanks for the tip.Hi
After some discussions here and there, I thought it could better to open a new topic ( maybe there’s an old one …).Like some of you know, I’ve received one this little treasure as a gift in a lot of figures.
I’m quite happy to have it ![imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/862_img_20200612_161455.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/862_img_20200612_161455.jpg[/imgz]
But unfortunately, I’ve checked it to search something about a figure and I’ve discovered that it starts only here:
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/862_handbook_2.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/862_handbook_2.jpg[/imgz]
and finishes here :
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/862_handbook_3.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/862_handbook_3.jpg[/imgz]
I think of course that the pages for the first figures exist …
If someone here (Master Fabrice perhaps), has copies (it could be scans ), I’m really interestedI’ve some stuff to give also :
-pages of Dragon Magazine (reserved by Master Milo but I can do scans or copies)
-advertising etc.. (most are in french )[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/862_img_20200612_160916.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/862_img_20200612_160916.jpg[/imgz]

I can already hear you railing against this new obituary. Who’s Next ?
Rest assured, Bruno was the last deceased painter whose memory I wanted to evoke. Bruno was mischievous, a bit like me. Did you find what famous character Bruno was inspired to make the figurine on display?Master Fabrice, some people pass … that’s sad of course but that’s real life.
I can add also someone who was not a painter, but an actor that we all remember, Ian Holms, the famous Bilbo of the LoTR movies…For the character of Bruno’s figure, I don’t know ! ( except that it’s a pirate !)
And for your story, it’s very interesting to learn so much about the Nantes Painters !
Thanks for sharing with us your memories.
Fabrice JACOB wrote:You’re right dear Maenas, with the difference here that the boxes have all the same dimensions. But these windows with the letters, with boxes of different sizes would do my job. I could include Rohan’s riders, trolls, and other creatures.I agree Master Fabrice, those typographic cases could be perfect for figures… I’ve a small one, empty, but it will do the job as soon as I find time to put figures in.
On this picture, it was just a test for 1/72 figures… and I’m not sure that is a original letters display ..

Milo wrote:Sam Wise wrote:If you’re interested, let me know ! I can scan the pages but I can send also the original.Oh I would love that.
Ok Master Milo !
the original pages of DRAGON Magazine ?
for the other pages, a scan is possible of course …
(your address in mp please )Milo wrote:Fabrice JACOB wrote:Very good pick Master Sam Wise.I think Master Milo was talking about articles from the Dragon magazine and not about the dragon figurine.
Indeed
oups !
For the Dragon Magazine :
-Juillet-Aout 93 : “A la Pointe du Cutter” : conversion of a dragon “RAFM” , author = Philippe Plual
-Janvier-Février 95 : “A la Pointe du Pinceau” : Gandalf vs Balrog in the Moria (creation of a diorama ) , Author =Christophe PatouIf you’re interested, let me know ! I can scan the pages but I can send also the original.
I agree with Master Milo of course, Master Erchamion !
the “good old time” …Milo wrote:Great lot master Sam. Seller is indeed a collector with great care. I never saw such indiviual packaging.About 3rd picture with “Dragon” articles, can you tell me more about it?
Master Milo, yes, it’s an excellent lot !
I don’t know if the first owner was only a collector ( the collection is not complete and started after M100)
But they are all prepared, prime colour stripped, and almost all glued, ready to paint (or exposed ?)I’ve nothing more to say about the dragon ! length is about 10 cm.
The strangest is that it seems to be primed like the Mithril figures.
I will take a picture with a figure for the scale.Hello ! I’ve received my preciouss today !
Master Fabrice it’s the Handbook + different pages ( advertisings I think and other stuff …)[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/862_img_20200612_161455.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/862_img_20200612_161455.jpg[/imgz]

and of course the figures ! ( about 45 … )
All in protected boxes , often glued and all unprimed, in excellent condition. 6 in blisters.
I think the owner was a collector and also a painter, but the seller didn’t have a lot of informations about the figures.[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/862_img_20200612_165308.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/862_img_20200612_165308.jpg[/imgz]

and also a strange dragon, not Mithril I guess…
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/862_img_20200612_162506.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/862_img_20200612_162506.jpg[/imgz]
I will keep on some of the figures for painting and will sell the others.
Have a good evening and more !
