Well, I like to read that you’re satisfied with the vignette … I am not.
Maybe you can imagine that it took some time and some coiny things to have the “unexpected Party” being produced.
I think Master Tubb did a brilliant job in sculpting the ideas of the first chapter.
So, what is it that I’m not satisfied with?
Until today I’ve only be able to witness the vignette on my screen … I have not got any of them until now – though we know that there are some among us who have received a box.
Sorry, but this was my last MX … as I am a bit annoyed.March 27, 2010 at 3:21 pm #9165Truly, I’m sorry Master Theobald.
The truth is that Mithril should have taken better care of the person who made possible this MX ….
A lack of “delicacy” I would say …..March 27, 2010 at 6:24 pm #9167I paid for MX UP magnificent vignette 24.02. but it is still somewhere in the air… I hope soon all of us will have this beauty at home.. specially you master tree… that not correct that you still have not something that would not be there without you….
March 27, 2010 at 9:08 pm #9169Theo, I am a little confused. Is it the figures themselves that disappoint you? Or the time of shipping? I am surprised that you did not receive a package first ahead of the rest of us. This does not seem right that you are still waiting and I would understand if that frustrates you.
Perhaps the cost also concerns you. Here in the US 180e is expensive, but I intend to buy two UP sets as I want one to give to a friend who will paint the other one for me to display. For the number of figures, I think the cost is not that bad.
I have recently ordered other figures, including the female assassin, and was told by a woman named Helen that the regular dispatch person was on leave due to a death in the family. It seems that she is new to the dispatch job and perhaps not getting much help. I suppose that Mithril, like many companies in this economy, has reduced their staff. It seems that Chris is often left to apologize for the way the company is operated.
March 27, 2010 at 11:44 pm #9170May I intervene . . .
I think it is unacceptable, taht Master Theobald hasn´t received anything. Annoying is a very moderate expression . . .
It should be for sure that you have received “your” edition already, something like a “first casting” as Master TWrich pointed out.
Very disappointing this situation.
Sometimes it hurts more if peaople tell what ever NOT-happened. Take it as a real care from my heart, Master Tree and I mean this serious!PS: at this moment I feel a little bit relieved of not having an order yet . . .
March 28, 2010 at 10:37 am #9171I think the man in the dark has made some very probable assessments on the current situation with Mithril; think of them (normally) as a friendly, but very small and slightly chaotic “startup” company inside of a huge stuffed warehouse full (!) of fantastic Mithril piles, you cannot turn without fearing to drop something; now if one of the main dispatch organizers leaves for some time, you can imagine the resulting chaos, even though I think Helen started to and finally will cope with it some day. But yes, their boss should have remembered to send it first to Master Theobald …
March 28, 2010 at 11:56 am #9172Thank you for the comments. Well, maybe I was a bit too hasty in telling you this, but on the other hand I wanted to inform you about this. One of the reasons for that is, that e.g. Master Gildor for a while is awaiting details about the extra-castings to complete his database. But how can I help if I don’t have the vignettes? Then some vignettes should have been given to the three winners of my last Christmas-riddle. I cannot do that, as I don’t have them. So, sorry for that, Gildor, Erchamion and Regalrick. By now I am in a situation to have to excuse for something I’m not responsible for.
To point out another matter clearly: I did not complain about Helen, who, as I know for sure, does her very best to cope with the situation.
But why worry? I think there are more serious matters in life, aren’t there?March 28, 2010 at 2:01 pm #9179No need for an apology Master Theobald.I have waited a lifetime so far for such a magnificent creation so a few more months are fine.Seems odd to mention to an Ent there is no need to haste but thank you ever so much for all your efforts to bring this vignette to existence.
March 28, 2010 at 6:20 pm #9184I agree Master Regalrick said. Thank you and thank you, Master Tree, is all that I want to say
March 28, 2010 at 6:43 pm #9185no hurry master tree
no hurry at all (besides, I have so very very little time to dedicate to mithril at the moment
)
March 28, 2010 at 9:34 pm #9187I hope this will not rub salt in the wounds, but I now have two UP vignettes, but only ordered one! (or at least my account seems to indicate I have only paid for one).
I have emailed Helen Desmond in Despatch at Mithril to resolve the issue, i.e. send it back to Mithril or, with a buyers permission forward it direct to the buyer to perhaps save on shipping.
This arrived last week totally by surprise, but to date I have not had a response from Helen as to the best way to proceed.
It was a ‘nice’ surprise, but this UP needs to find its rightfull owner as at the end of the day this is Theobalds investment and a ‘lost’ UP is money not going to the right person.
I shall give Helen a couple of days next week to see if she responds before a reminder email, other than that I shall contact Micheal to see if he can sort it. I understand Helen is new to the job so may have made an innocent mistake.
As this is a company mistake I can’t deal direct with sending it on unless Mithril OK it, so no bidders please
David
March 29, 2010 at 9:40 am #9188David, from past hour I’m sure that this is not my vignette. Postman has delivered her after 35 days I’ve payed for it
and also charge me another 42 Euros for custom taxes
pih ! ouch ! but finaly I have my “Unexpected party” in blue box
redy to be painted soon
😎
and I going to save some more money for future nice little mithril things…
March 29, 2010 at 11:45 am #9190Today I received apologies and explanations from Master Lars. So obviously something (or two or three things) went wrong. So, I’ll just have to wait some more time to receive some figures. But you know, wait I can.
So I’ll see …
March 29, 2010 at 5:51 pm #9192i hope master Edman knows how to apologize kindly and offered you something to “compensate” those “things that went wrong”.. that would be fair for you
March 29, 2010 at 6:04 pm #9193He apologized kindly and explained in detail several things that went wrong. That’s ok, I think. I wouldn’t ask for any kind of “compensation”, Master Gildor. But I know that he reacted as he received a phone-call from The Man about this matter this morning. So that’s it. I’m not at all interested in causing trouble and I do not like to broadcast details here.
Let’s turn to more positive things … somewhere in the Prancing PonyMarch 30, 2010 at 3:50 am #9194I’m glad that you have been contacted, Master Tree. I will talk to you in the Pony!
March 31, 2010 at 12:45 pm #9248Now I need some help from those who already received the MX-blue box. How many tables are in there? Could you let me know, please?
March 31, 2010 at 5:16 pm #92572 tables were in my box… they didn’t put third one
🙂
March 31, 2010 at 6:50 pm #9260yes, two tables,
March 31, 2010 at 8:15 pm #9261So at least that seems to be ok. – I just thought that the company sold all vignettes with a third table. Right then, the difference is not a major one.
Hey, what about your success in assembling that vignette? Takes some time, doesn’t it? I could provide some advice for doing it better than that advice you find in the leaflet of the ‘blue box’, as today I just coped assembling all those parts.
But let me please point out here that it’s not only craftsmanship you need for mould-making, it has to be an expert in those matters who is able to cast those tiny things in a spin-mould that perfectly, that in the end there is no problem to loose the parts from the sprews … excellent job. -
