By now I’m trying to give one set an “antique finish” … why? … it has to be, as the more I’m succesful with that the more details do reveil itself … it’s different from priming or spraying.
April 1, 2010 at 10:41 pm #9275Completely right, Master Theobald. I recieved a couple of miniatures via ebay the last times, they were in antique finish, remarkably.
It is the best you can do- instead painting them, of course.April 2, 2010 at 5:42 am #9276“Antique finish” yes…. some old figures could have beter look with this efect…. If somebody decide to left figures unpainted this is excellent !
April 2, 2010 at 1:26 pm #9278Well, how to start?
Ahem, all this took some time – though the word took is not a name in the sentence.
But in the Ent all’s well that ents well, so to say.
Let me try, please.Bilbo Baggins is a quite normal hobbit – genial, chubby and a bit lazy. He loves good food, wine and his tobacco pipe. One day, however, his quiet life comes to an abrupt end, when Gandalf, the wizard and a group of dwarves ask for his companionship in an adventurous and dangerous undertaking.
Ah, that’s good, isn’t it?

April 2, 2010 at 1:55 pm #9282Yes, fellows, it was a long way to go until I have it here as I thought of it. Every single step I had to take was worth it, I think. Not forgetting about the steps others had to do.
I just hope you can enjoy this, too.
Huuoommmrhuoommm … hom !April 2, 2010 at 2:49 pm #9286The scale in that colour shot was interesting.
Took me a while to work out what I was looking at (that’s an awful big Sindarin Mage!).
Lovely, lovely work, though.
April 2, 2010 at 3:34 pm #9287yes , it took me time to understand the scale too master gavin, I thought it was HUGEEEE then I saw the little mobile phone on the right and managed to have an idea of the actual scale
anyway…. this antique finish version is wonderful! really well done and really impressive!
April 2, 2010 at 5:04 pm #9294Dear Master Theobald,

April 3, 2010 at 6:36 pm #9304Well, I think a hard job it is to assemble the vignette … a harder job is to paint it … but the hardest job was made by Chris Tubb
April 3, 2010 at 9:05 pm #9312100% Agree
!
May 8, 2010 at 4:59 pm #9871Alas … this morning I went down to my cellar … a parcel there was … I nearly forgot about it, as I unfortunately had to be busy with other things. Nevertheless I started unpacking again just trying to keep my promises. So just take these pics as a joke (25kg joke by the way).

See, your Ent is busy … though he cannot haste everything.
I provide the pics, because sometime ago some gents around here did not mind to comment on my workplace. These pics were taken downstairs in the cellar, where I do have two more workbenches which keep me busy …
This is just for fun and also to document the reception of some vignettes.May 8, 2010 at 6:24 pm #9873Pharaoh Keops would be jealous of that pyramid…. and all of this because of one table with books
third one….
May 8, 2010 at 7:10 pm #9874Hou….
Are these packaging empty or full ? Very impressiveMay 8, 2010 at 7:59 pm #9876Well, Milo, all those boxes still are filled with the UP.
Some weeks ago it took me a while to carry that parcel down to my cellar. But there it still was today. See, I just wanted to provide pics for those gentlemen who liked to comment on my work-places.
So … to be honest … I got three of them workbenches … oh, I found some 60X60 cm table-tops of ‘Moria’ (including the eastern gate).
That’s where you get to when you try to dig too deep … there might be a Balrog …
😆May 9, 2010 at 3:21 pm #9879That’s the ENT!
Always good for a joke isn’t he.May 9, 2010 at 9:52 pm #9883Yes, Master Theobald, and I noticed these working places very much! I really like those places . . .
Nice pictures, by the way, nice picturs. Imagine, they were filled up with Christmas-figures 1989 . . .
Receiving the packet must have been an extraordinary experience wich won´t happened again in your lifetime, Master Ent . . .The Ent! A song performed by The Doors, isn´t it . . .
