May 11, 2010 at 9:24 pm #9929This is what I have expected: a splendid work by yourself! And a quick one as well . . .
But what about these economical aspects . . ? They shouldn´t be something to focus on.
We are collectors, we are skilled artisans! Like you, Nino!
Your painted example pleases me very much. I remember some words spoken by Master Estel concerning the
paint job by Master Fahey for releasing the MX: “there are better painters out there”
You are one of them!PS: better put your pics in the gallery-section!
May 11, 2010 at 9:31 pm #9930splendid work! I really like the carpet too, how did you get it?
just one little note. the background picture used for the scene is not of the same scale (though it would be very hard to reproduce an impression of depth if it was at the proper scale… so the furnitures from the picture appear quite large even for dwarves and the door of bag end is huge…. but these are little details:
this is a wonderful work!
May 12, 2010 at 2:18 am #9931What truly incredible work.
Amazing!
May 12, 2010 at 7:19 am #9932Someone has been working hard. Great work, Master Thingol!
May 12, 2010 at 9:17 am #9933What a master piece ! Fanstastique.
and so fast… I am impressed.I don’t think this will find a place in grand Ma’s garden ! :D:D:D:D:D
May 12, 2010 at 11:11 am #9934Beautiful! Incredible atmosphere! And the detail of the rug: exquisite!
May 12, 2010 at 1:22 pm #9937Thank you so much for providing pictures of the Party also showing your wonderful paint job.
I also like the idea of the rug very much, it fits well. While sculpting the vignette Chris also thought of having a rug on the floor.
Gildor’s right about the scale of the background picture … but that’s not part of the vignette.
Excellent job, Thingol, thank you again.May 12, 2010 at 6:41 pm #9938Nob wrote:indeed the base is not big enough in this case… indeed… still some “master diorama builders” could build the MX535 in another manner than the one proposed by mister Tubb.
For example, agencing the figurines in a total different way, the “diameter” side of the base could be used for the “back of the vignette and the “semi circle” could be used for the front… and then a Fireplace could be added on the background which is straight…It requires imagination and building indeed… but that could be a good thing…
also master Thingol, I am not sure but I think those vignettes are still up for sale at Mithril itself if not on ebay… (though certainly more expensive…)
I’m considering using the base as an ‘end-wall’, I just wish CT had signed it the other way up as his signature will be upside down if I go with that plan
Fantastic build up Thingol, good to see that someone has ‘got their finger out’ . I have finished almost all of the figures, but Bag-end is still to be built…..
May 12, 2010 at 8:23 pm #9940Dear friends I’m happy because of all your compliments…. I count’s lot’s to me and I hope soon we would have privilege to see here painting work of most of us. Background on this pictures is only one printed picture. On photos better then the old window and it is not in scale like figures but it have nice colors so this is only small decoration… the rug – carpet only printed picture in slim piece of paper glued on old tissue. Little bit faceted and this is it… nothing so complicated. Also Bag-end. One day I hope I will make lots of small dioramas like David & Christoph… and others but in this time my figures are still in my shelf… and answer for master Arthadan working ouuu jeah but not so hard… it was pleasure … and question for master from Mirkwood which gallery section on mithril.ie I guess… and finally thanks once again to all of you for amazing bunch of thoughts embroidered with lot’s kind words
May 12, 2010 at 9:53 pm #9942Well, Master Thingol, to me this is the right place to place your pictures of that MX-UP, as this thread is about it. Of course they also should be provided elsewhere. You can send them to Master O’Brian directly to have them placed in the gallery section of the Mithril page. You cannot do (upload) that yourself there.
Yes, and still I’m amazed about the quality of your paint-job in such a short time. I only managed to have that “antique-finish” version being published here …
Thank you for providing the explanation how you added the rug to the vignette … great !!!July 12, 2010 at 6:41 pm #10931Dear friends… specially dear Master wisest of all ents…. with your big project there would be my picture on mithril web….. so with great pride http://www.mithril.ie/ my picture of MX UP is on mithril

July 12, 2010 at 8:21 pm #10933Master Thingol, I saw it this afternoon and I feel with you …. but … you deserved it
July 12, 2010 at 8:53 pm #10935Congratulations Nino!!
this is a premiere! a great thing that Mithril recognizes the talent of our community best painters!!
maybe some should get contracts with mithril for pictures I’m sure it could even boost up mithril sales when someone sees what can be achieved with Mithril figurines!!
rita.de, ddaines come on guy! do like Thingol submit your work to become “exposition paintings”I remember a time when “mithril maniacs” in France used to be given promotionnal figurines for special painting for figurines events in France and elsewhere… these were ordered works by Mithril, to these painters.
July 12, 2010 at 10:42 pm #10936Not that the spanish football guys won the championship- no, there is my friend from Croatia who is seen on the front page . . . 😎
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N from the depths of Mirkwwod !!!!!

I is working on it Gildor, I is working on it , figures are finished, just trying to decide on the surroundings I should give it a higher priority though as the project deserves to be finished, but I am almost there with “The West Gate of Moria” hint, hint  which I want to get finished as it has been on the ‘bench’ for a long while.
July 13, 2010 at 6:50 am #10941Dear friends thanks for all…. and as Master Gildor Sais…. I would like to see also works of other of you painting professionals on mithril front page…. I think that this is the best kind of promotion for company. So that some new kids can see new products in their painting shine…. why not one day, I would like to paint something for mithril…. in exchange for single figure… this is not expensive salary
….and go master David go! I sure that you’ll made great small diorama
July 14, 2010 at 9:40 am #10956Congratulations Nino! It is nice that everyone can appreciate your ‘ART’ on the official website of Mithril
