Well, Gildor, as I tried to explain before – or forgot to do that – one of the problems is to combine those two songs in the vignette too … we have to be patient about these matters, I think … as it’s not me providing ideas which can be re-read in that Hobbit-book … I prefer to leave up decisions to Master Tubb … rhuoommm
August 1, 2009 at 10:52 am #6262Since then, the resulting set will be spectacular
August 1, 2009 at 11:49 am #6264One of the suggestions I was going to make for the GF (once vignettes were allowed again) was going to be “Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold….” – Fili & Kili sitting down playing their fiddles with Thorin and his Golden harp. Now I shall just wait and see
It will be interesting to see how this MX develops, but probably as Theobald says, best left to him that is sculpting to come up with the ideas, but it would be nice to see a musical instrument or two in there
August 1, 2009 at 12:37 pm #6266Well, Master Ddaines, I hope you can take some time and read that first chapter in the Hobbit book again. That’s where it all began. Then you’ll remember that playing musical instruments doesn’t take a minor part. So don’t worry about them. But along with this you will have to cope with some Dwarves feasting – and Bilbo being somewhat helpless.
All this might turn out to be what Master Erchamion just before called ‘expectacular’ (whatever that means).August 1, 2009 at 9:07 pm #6270This would be delightful when it will be possible to buy it… beginning of Hobbit is something so beautiful for any kid who wants to began to go on excellent journey… ! When we would have a chance to began our journey with this jewel !?!?!?!?
August 1, 2009 at 9:55 pm #6271well if master Tubb keeps working that fast it should be ready sooner than expected !!! Wasn’t it scheduled for next February or so?
August 1, 2009 at 11:06 pm #6272Gildor, you know that I’m not the one to haste anything … in this case I will definitely not do so and have no right force anything. It cannot be my decision about what others are willing to do, nor did I ever wanted to be in such a position. Trees don’t feel that way.
There has never been a schedule for next February as there has never been a schedule for this.
I hope by the Ent of 2009 this might see the light. Keep fingers crossed.August 1, 2009 at 11:44 pm #6273Thingol, you met the point well about what all this is about. It simply is a beginning, something unexpected from the eyes of a child (not you, of course). As for me I regard all this as realizing what a long time ago was called “curriculum in artibus”, so you might read those lines in”Cicero:Pro C. Rabirio,ยง30″ which are about “artes liberales”. That’s what I want to say
August 2, 2009 at 8:18 am #6274(mea culpa then, I was sure to have seen february somewhere But all those things are indeed in very good hands master tree
August 2, 2009 at 12:21 pm #6275“Ent of 2009?”
“ENT of 2009”Master Tree, another pun like that and I shall infest you with squirrels.
August 2, 2009 at 1:12 pm #6276You have waken up, those Lazy Lads, Master Theobald!
As I said before: F A N T A S T I C !
This MX project seems to become a very unique and special thing. Looks like something of the best The Man will have created!August 14, 2009 at 6:43 pm #6427So today I received more news about the next two small vignettes being worked at at the moment.
So far Fili and Kili are tuning up their fiddles (another Dwarf will complete this small vignette).
Then we see Dwalin carrying a stack of precariously balanced plates to the kitchen. He’s one part of the next small vignette.
Please mind, that these figures are not finished by now – but here I just want to document the sculpting of this vignette, hmm, Chris called it a diorama by now … and I do believe him.[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/9_fili_-_kili_-_dwalin.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/9_fili_-_kili_-_dwalin.jpg[/imgz]
August 14, 2009 at 10:26 pm #6430Simplay marvellous!
I can hear the sound of the fiddle. . .
If you put the three pictures together ( some electronical help is necessary . . .) you can feel such a wonderful agility.
Thanks for sharing this, Master Theobald.August 23, 2009 at 9:21 pm #6610So far there’re just eight Dwarves and a Gandalf reveiled … so there’s more to come. We need them, don’t we? Don’t forget that poor Hobbit.
August 24, 2009 at 5:45 am #6612Wowwwwww… ๐ฎ … how many vignettes would be in this MX beauty… would it be one big package or few… different nice small precious things to buy singularly… every few months each…
August 24, 2009 at 8:44 am #6615mmhh I don’t think they will be released on “one-each-month” basis but rather altogether at the same time.
Maybe it will be a single reference maybe several references maybe a “commercial” operation for those who want to buy all of them rather than only one of them (though I doubt this would be interesting at all, at least for a MX)August 24, 2009 at 8:56 am #6616The plan is to sell all this as a single MX-release, a massive vignette or diorama so to say. Including a large base and the furniture set.
August 24, 2009 at 9:35 am #6617I guess this will become the most expensive MX ever. Regarding production and also reselling this massive work of art!
I also believe there is no variant planned eighter…. I have to win the lotto!August 24, 2009 at 9:51 am #6618Wining on lottery today is always welfare solution ! But I’m sure that I will buy this with or without lotto ! ๐
August 24, 2009 at 1:07 pm #6623maybe they should “create” a new prefix for this kind of release :
MBX …. Designer Mithril Boxed set… about the packaging I suppose it will be a boxed set anyway….
I suppose the final price will be something like 150โฌ or more apiece…. but they should keep an option of transforming the MX into a MB… and thus break their own rule for this one : do NOT break the mould but keep the option to change the marketing type (maybe by removing or making small different options between the “collector” MX and the “regular” MB)
but well…. these are only guesses… and marketing ideas… I know mister Edman -as always- will make the “right” choices
