Huoommm … we’ll see … everything said here has been considered so far … rhuomm … but, as you might know, there are things that shouldn’t be hasted …
at the moment we settled about having 70 castings of the ‘Second Edition’ and 30 of the ‘First Edition’ … maybe some things will have to be re-considered … huomm
as for your comment, Master Gildor, I think that Master Edman might be enthusiastic about this project, but I think what’s more important is the fact that Master Tubb seems to be even more enthusiastic about it … rhuoommm … and that, for me, is definitely the most important aspect …September 21, 2009 at 11:18 am #7025now if you have some hints on what will be different from the “first edition” and the “second one” I would be interested to know indeed
September 21, 2009 at 11:53 am #7027Huoommm … by now I can give no hints, as these matters are not decided yet. I just thought of a very small additional object for to distinguish the first from the second edition visually. Though someone else was thinking about making some variants for the key figures. I think this would take too much effort. I’m afraid that realizing this idea could imply having a further spin-mould to be made. But, as I said, these matters are not decided yet. The only thing that is decided about the difference between the first and the second edition is that it will be marked on the bases.
So all I can say at the moment is, that time will be needed “to bring it all to a proper fruition”.
At the moment there are 4 other Ms-releases (among them a different version of Bombur) and the Isildur to be made. I am glad that The Man doesn’t haste. That’s nearly all I know of.September 21, 2009 at 12:01 pm #7028Alas … I forgot to mention that the ‘First Edition’ will not be sold by The Company. There’ll only be those 70 of the ‘Second Edition’. That’s status quo in September 09.
September 21, 2009 at 2:44 pm #7035I am REALLY looking forward to getting these into my grubby hands. Two if I can afford them, one for the cabinet and one for a diorama.
AND I hope that you make a BIG return on your investment. Hopefully enough to justify the next project
Cough. Council of Elrond. Cough. Or whatever. Make it happen!
September 21, 2009 at 4:01 pm #7037Huoommm … thank you Axel for your wishes about a return on the investment … rhuoomm … to be honest, there will be none for me, as I forgot to consider about this matter …
my investment might become a basis for future releases, as I do hope … rhuoomm … here you’re right … but it’ll take time to sort out things … with this I just wanted to top the MX-Imrahil … rhuoommm …September 21, 2009 at 4:08 pm #7038a council… now that’s an idea… but the “council of Elrond” association already exists… for MECCG cards… (council of Fangorn too…) so we’d have to create another council
but what would be the purpose of such a council? A council of “very active” mmp/collector members that could have some weight towards Mithril future/decisions etc… (mmh that’s growing off topic but that’s interesting)
September 21, 2009 at 5:02 pm #7041Huoommm … me thoughts are not about letting our fantasy fly to new horizons as there still are things to be reveiled, as far as I know … rhuoommmhom … with that “Unexpected Party” I just tried to support the idea that the ‘beginning’ of all that should not be forgotten … rhuoommm …
then there are Ents who also unexpectedly take part in some process … huoommmhom … once they’ve decided to do so …. rhuoommm … the next morning they’re gone … huoommm … it leaves some shiver on the souls watching the passing fog … rhuoomm … that’s all there is … hommmrhuomm …October 3, 2009 at 8:31 am #7248Well, I just learned from Master O’Brian’s latest newsletter that a “large base” could be casted (in case the spin-mould would do). I don’t know from which source he took the information.
Indeed it was intended to have a “large base” with locator holes for all the figures in June this year. That means the figures themselves will be un-based, like the ones of the PM1-vignette.
About the size and shape (semi-circle) of the base Master O’Brian referred to (about 100mm in diameter and about 50mm in radius) I cannot confirm, as I know less than he does. Though he might be close in estimating size and shape.October 6, 2009 at 11:02 pm #7321I just read this entire topic.. fascinating!
Master Theobald – when you say that the 30 1st editions won’t be sold by the Company, does that mean they will be directly sold by you and Chris?
As for the combined total of 100 sets, I assume that should be enough for all the “serious” Mithril collectors.
In any case – the sculpts look really, really enticing so far!
George
October 7, 2009 at 7:15 am #7323This is a point thatยดs wake my interest too. Being such of these serious mithril collectors-where is the possibility to get an edition of the first castings?!
Please inform us, Master Theobald.October 7, 2009 at 8:49 am #7324Yes, please!
October 7, 2009 at 12:27 pm #7325I will support him as much as cost this little big diorama. This project is so unique that it’s worth sacrificing some money for this support. Of course without bank support… we need for this money hidden in socks under the mattress…. ๐
In the end I am Master’s Tree obligor
October 8, 2009 at 3:12 pm #7336To point some things out clearly, let me explain, please:
So far no price for the vignette has been fixed (as far as I know) and I will have no influence on that at all. It’s all a matter of the Company (Mr Edman). So I really cannot give any information about this. To make this aspect clearer: After submitting for the MX-Imrahil, in the end I had to buy the released figure myself. I think this will also be the same with the MX-Unexpected Party. So I’m as curious about the price as all of you are.
Those 70 castings will only be sold by Mithril.
There will be 30 more castings (thought of as being called 1st edition). These will not be sold by Mithril. So far there has no decision been taken about these. No decision at all. That’s all I can tell.
I promised you to keep you informed here about the development of this MX-vignette, so I do. But this is all there is at the moment. I cannot haste things you know, and with this I really do not want to haste anything, as I think we should prefer to have a very nice piece in the end.
October 8, 2009 at 8:39 pm #7337No, Thingol, I don’t need any support at all. You should know, once trees are decided to do something … they simply do … after having considered things and matters wisely …
Though the word “unique” you used might fit well … rhuoomm … with this I’m sure.
There’ll be new pictures here in a while …October 8, 2009 at 9:26 pm #7338Thank you for these informations, Master Tree. And: pictures are always welcome!
October 9, 2009 at 7:30 am #7343I like trees…. I really like those beautiful mighty plants…
I hope we would have enough time to buy it, in the short time for buying action…. ๐
October 19, 2009 at 12:13 pm #7451Thanks to Master Tubb I received some news about the progress of that chaotic and unexpected party … mind, it’s not finished yet, but I promised to keep you informed …
