Hi fellows, as announced ( where? ) I want to show you some pics of my works.
Also being encouraged by the other fantastic artists . . .
For explanation: I paint the minis with oil colors and – and this might be interesting for you, Gildor- paint the background with watercolors.
Doing this with watercolors gives a little more diffuse impression and it seems that there is space . . .
Using the oil colors gives me also the chance, to put the figure beside and to take care of my wonderful wife. The color stays smooth and you can paint-on couple of hours later. ( Otherwise this passion has been taken to an end for years :D ! )
So I hope you like it.
      Christoph

          very nice diorama indeed :)
alas i only know how to paint with acrylic :( I never used oil… techniques are not the same…
I spent years learning how to drybrush and use of washes and i don’t know english name for “glacis”… the result lately have been quite interesting actually, but it’s far more beautiful on 54mm !

This is the last one for tonight. My favourite horseman: the archer from the first Rohan-serie. I really like these early horses. Maybe some people can remember my first posts here concerning the horse of Imrahil and its similarity to the horse of MX 456-Frumgar . . . I hope I was not talking to offence . . .
This is especially for you, Jason. Seems that we both are fans of the Rohirrim . . . So long, fellows-take care

Oh Yeah! A Rider of Rohan! That is impressive Christoph. Cool background too! I don’t have him yet, but I will be adding him to my collection in the future. :D
I am currently painting the riders that I have, so I will add to my work soon.
Nice job on all of your work Christoph. Can’t wait to see what others that you have.
I wish everyone would post their work as well.

Brilliant work Christoph – you’ve got a great sense of style in your dioramas, and take a good pic to boot :)

                    Very impressive!
I guess I have to steal some of your ideas! LOL

I posted all of the Mithrils I have painted (1), and I’m not posting none Mithril’s here.

You won’t be the only one Holger ;) Very impressive Christoph, the back drop paintings finish the creations just right and do not over-power the figures.

Alas I lack the patience to go that extra mile (I don’t do metric either Barli, lol) to paint a background!

Thanks for sharing these images, can’t wait for the next installment.

Thank you very much for your warm words, Wendy and you, guys. It is quiet reliefing (?) that there is somebody out there who likes his work. As I certainly do the same for you. I think thewre will be other ones-am still working on it :P

OK- as promised: this goes out for Mr. David Daines ( and of course to all the other mithril enthusiasts :D ):
my current work in progress . . .

Great job Christoph! On a side note I noticed your figures spear is broke. Their is an M220 for sale on ebay in the United Kingdom. You might check it out.

I like it! There’s a lot of potential in that diorama – the concept is mightily good.

Hi Jason, your eyes are excellent- but the secret is: ” converting mithrils ” ;) I do have the original part of the spear and:
I have another one !!! :D Thank you for your words, guys !

Im sure I get it done sometime in the future!

Alas my Turin figure was missing the spear arm and as this was the days before you could bombard Mithril with emails asking for a replacement it has had to remain that way, not that it matters as I will eventually sort it.

                                      In anticipation….;)

My word, Christoph, you are a very talented painter, and a very talented visual designer. I love the mood and tonalities of the image and the palettes you use for paint: dark, grey, nebulous but still distinctive. The result is rich and atmospheric and does great honour both to the legendarium and the sculptor.

Hey Gavin, thank you for your compliment- it means much to me- Skilled Artisan- cause I do like your work as well.
I had a look at the mithril/fan painting section for years ( I am there too ! ) and recognize your person :)

A long time has passed. But I am still working on these little treasures . . . You have to know, that not only the fabolous Wendy is called “slowest painter ever . . .”
                                            There is another one . . . ;)

Concerning this Master of the Tama I have to say, that I really love this ” ptolemaic ” head-form. Fantastic.
And I have to say: Thank you to this forumsĀ“database, that helps me to put him in the right context.
