Elrond has arrived safely in North Belgium.
Welcome party was yesterday. He’s having a nap now, after such a long trip.
Hi
thanks for the suggestion, but I think distances are to long for an arrangement and simply sending Elrond by post is the most easy way.
Shall I give you my address by private mail?
Regards
Hi Gildor
I got a M201 Gondorian mounted officer from the auction, with a wrong serial number (M200) on the base. Is that to be considered as a variant?
Hi everybody
Yes, Elrond is still welcome in my home.I read on the Mithril website Chris is born in 1952. So he will be celebrating his 70th bearthday next year!
Thanks master Elf for sharing the news.
It’s a privilege to have someone in the club who has a close contact with the Man himself.
But can you give us some more details about the good and positive changes that happened to mithril production in the last two months?I have painted 3 Mithril spiders myself and was happy with my work, but when I see this, I realise I’m still miles away from this level!
Great piece of art!Yes I think it’s right.
So maybe I have put my question wrong, but we have learned from it. Or some of us .
Ok my question:
we all know M16 Female Ranger is one of the most rare and difficult to find Mithril mini’s, if not the most rare. But what specifically caused this miniature to become so rare?
It’s an intresting idea, no doubt, but the more I think about it, the more complex it becomes…
If we take the collection in our commun possession, we must all agree about the price we will pay Jose. No, first we must be clear who wants to join this idea. Then all participants must agree about the price we will pay, and how we will divide the price among us.
Once we have an agreement about this, the next question will be: who will keep the collection?
And then: what are we going to do with it? Will we save it until someone shows up who wants to buy the complete collection? Can some of us buy parts of it and at what price? I think we must avoid that the collection stays with someone for years and years, without use for someone.
What if a participant wants to leave the community? Not that I can imagine someone wants to leave this cosy company, but with health issues it’s possible someone has no choice.
Someone will have to act as bookkeeper and we should keep an inventory. But most important: we should bear in mind that Jose Antonio wishes his collection comes into loving hands, which means IMO in the hands of a collector who will take care of them because he or she loves Mithril miniatures as much as we do. I’m afraid a project like this will be only a delay for his wish. I think the best he can do is looking for someone who really is interested in the miniatures, and who wants to pay a price that is acceptable for Jose, eventually for only a part of the collection.
I fear that every one of us will ever face the day we will have to say goodbye to our great hobby and these great minis, hoping they will end up with someone new, who will take care of them as much as we have done. But I hope that day will be many years away from today for all of us!
Thanks for your comments, folks.
I already have two M73 minis of my own, to create a mini caravan. That’s ok for now. But thanks for your much appreciated offer, master Milo.
I like it very much!
And here it is: the Warband of Harad!
For this one I used M293 (mounted officer), two captains (M153), 8 Visiguard soldiers (M75 and M79), 7 Near-Harad soldiers (M294), 8 Far-Harad soldiers (M154) and 3 caravan guards (M74). By setting the sword arm of the M294 in a slightly different angle, I could make 7 slightly different poses of it.[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_mw417_box_front.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_mw417_box_front.jpg[/imgz]

Great paintjobs! The black/white/grey color pattern looks very well.
I tried to paint such a grey horse with white dots myself a few times, but the result was unsatisfying to me. Yours looks wery well succeeded to me.
For comparison, here is mine:

I think it’s not a matter of new figures in the release or not. Number MB236 (The Hobbit) was also a release of already existing figures (M227-235) and so was MB237 (The Fellowship) which was a reprise of the figures M123-129. But those ‘box’ numbers have to be in the database if you don’t want to leave a gap in it.The MPACK numbers form a range on their own, so no problem of leaving a gap if you don’t list them. On the other side: if you don’t list them, it’s like they never have existed. I think it could be interesting for collectors at least to know one could order those figures as an ‘army set’, and certainly if you got them in a special dedicated box (for Dol Amroth it was a cardboard box and for the Corsairs it was the classic ‘Warband’ plastic kit, with a picture, printed on paper, of a group of Corsairs fixed on the kit with tape). The Lossarnach figures just came loose in the usual blisters.
So I would say: yes, add them to the list. As you already know I’m a fan of Warbands
